Writing
Our writing work this year asks students to progress through a writing continuum. A continuum, compared to a rubric, shows growth that spans across grade levels and recognizes that writing is a process that always leaves room for growth. Bozeman requires fourth-grade students to write at a Level 8 on the continuum to be considered proficient writers.
Students write every day in our Writer's Workshop, often about a topic of their choice. They experience all aspects of writing, including brainstorming, drafting, editing, and publishing. Please examine the requirements for proficiency in the document below and on the linked text type pages and look for opportunities to support your student's work.
