About Ms. Kristin Hopkins Sigler
Life is good!
|
I grew up in Kalispell, Montana and earned my bachelor’s degree at MSU in 2001. Then I taught for two years in Washington state in a 5/6 mulitage self-contained gifted classroom. Missing life in Bozeman, I jumped at the opportunity to teach at Longfellow School. In 2008, I earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from MSU while also instructing as an adjunct in the MSU Education Department. This year is my 16th teaching at Longfellow, and 18th year teaching. I live in downtown Bozeman with my husband, our baby Tova (3), his three children Logan (sophmore@BHS), Quinn (freshman@MSU), and Delaney (sophmore@MSU, living abroad in Montpellier, France). There is never a dull moment in our house!
I consider it such a privilege to teach, learn, and live in the Bozeman community! In our classroom, students and families can anticipate an academically rigorous program with high standards, coupled with enough support to meet those standards. During this year, we will work hard and play hard! I believe firmly that a strong family-teacher connection creates great students. For your student to be successful, I need to know what is working and what isn’t. For this reason, I invite you to contact me with questions, concerns, or positive feedback. With the addition of our baby girl, I will often take my work home at night to capture as many waking hours with her as possible. To honor your time, I recommend scheduling appointments with me instead of trying to catch me at school – I am often a blur through our hallways. Again, welcome to a great year in the fourth grade! |
